Having lived in the local area for the past 12 years David knows the coastline intimately and can show participants everything from rugged sea stacks to wide sandy beaches, from secret coves to famous landmarks, peppered with some of the most picturesque towns and villages found anywhere. This unique coastline has much to offer the landscape photographer.
\r\n
\r\nThe relatively small size of the coast means most locations are within easy reach giving the workshop participants more time on location and less time travelling. With the lack of cliché iconic shots, with exception of the awe inspiring Bowfiiddle Rock, participants will not be blinded by ready made compositions. Instead they will have to exercise their creative vision and imagination to make compositions in some of the most stunning coastal locations found anywhere.
\r\n
\r\nAt the end of the workshop the participants will not only have a unique folio of images made off the photographic beaten track but will have fully exercised all aspects of their photography.
\r\n
\r\nThe workshop will be based in the historic town of Portsoy in the heart of the Banffshire Coast. We will be out from dawn to dusk at locations. At night we will have presentations, critique sessions and introduction to post processing (for those who require it).
\r\n
\r\nThis workshop is suitable for the beginner and intermediate who would like to gain full control of their camera and hone their compositional skills. Experts can also benefit from stimulating debate, location finding or simply a holiday! Aimed at digital and 35mm film users, those who work with medium and large format can still benefit as particular attention is paid to compositional nuances and developing vision and style.
\r\n
\r\nA decent standard of fitness is required.
